soooo..... once upon a time i ate WAY too much ac1d and sat down to record a song. this is what happened. this is basically a giant improv piece in the key of industrial over some sweet sounding drums. i'm not sure what the hell this reminds me of other than trippin' REALLY hard. this seems to be a lot of folks favorite, so enjoy!
so i wanted a weird timbre for the intro and then i wanted it to get metal. a bit repetitive but prolly one of my favorite solo's on my whole damn cd. not a perfect mixing job but not too bad. enjoy.
so a friend of mine gave me this industrial sounding beat and he says to me he says "dude can you do something with this? i can't think of anything....." my response was "of course i can" and this is what ensued. special thanks to J.R. for the beats and consent to use it. sounds ministry-esque imo.
this was a song written about a chick. 9 months later i heard linkin park had ripped off one of my riffs on their album hybrid theory. i was thoroughly pissed. don't sweat it though, this song is way heavier than anything i've ever heard by them.
i needed something kinda mellow after track 4 and ended up writing this. a little piano, kinda tool-esque. i slightly flubbed the solo but it still sounds pretty kickin' good ambience imo. also the last song to be recorded so i had kinda gotten decent at mixing. prolly the best mixed song on the cd.
this song was recorded st0ned as hell one night. a friend of mine wanted something to play with in a "production" type sense so i gave him this. this is what he did to it, i thought it sounded perfect to be the prelude to 'still here'. hence it is. also the only song to which i acutally managed to get lyrics on. enjoy the creepiness.
so i like pianos and i like heavy metal and really long solos. the solo isn't perfect, but it sounds alright. my phrasing has improved quite a bit since this song but still a testament to how good i was (much less now all these years later)
this kinda has a slight nailsy feel to it. but i've had friends relate it to sabbath, pantera and ministry too. check it out, its pretty out there. a decent solo and lotsa crazy synth and drums. i dig layering different sounds over each other to get new stuff and this is a good example.
a song written on, by and for people on a head full of ac1d. originally started and mostly synthed out one night on way too much LSD. over the next couple of nights i re-arranged and got the basics down for what goes where (while stoned as hell) then on the 5th night i ate a LOT more acid and recorded the guitars. sometimes i refer to this as the "ghost" song because there are some notes in the "soft" parts (with the clean guitars) that sound like synth but in reality were NEVER recorded with ANY instrument...
this is the song i wrote for the xmas song thing, its based on something i saw xmas of '06. the vocals arent as clear as i wouldve liked, i will comment myself w/ the lyrics if you're interested
originally written on acoustic i re-arranged it for piano and using fruity loops piano rolled it. it took me about 3 days to do this beginning to end and about aweek or 2 afterwards to find some good loops for it. no lyrics but a good little dance number. enjoy!
just a cover of amazing grace with a lot of distortion. i love this song and felt the soul one night, i don't know why i never put it up before but i hope you all enjoy.
