Well, I'm Russian, but I live here in the US. I've been playing guitar for about 7 years. I'm pretty decent and can do all of the standard metal stuff like tapping, sweeping, pinch harmonics, whammy harmonics, etc.
I don't really look or seem like a metalhead, apart from wearing an occasional black band shirt/hoody. I'm in school for Economics and work for the Federal Reserve system of the US.
I've been on UG since 2001, but only made an account a year or two ago.

I have a black metal/ambient project with my friend. It's called Aedificium and if someone knows the reference, then they will have my utmost respect. We are in the process of putting the final touches on the songs, so we'll have an actual version besides the Guitar Pro version.
I cover the lyrics, most of the growling, electric guitar, and bass duties.
He does clean vocals, acoustic guitar, keyboard, and drum machine.
He brings a lot of the ambient influence, while I am influenced a lot by bands like Darkthrone, with a somewhat minimalistic feel. However, since I love to shred, I'm not above putting some sweep picking licks in the solos as long as they sound tasteful.
