gallagher2006 wrote on Sep 19th, 2007 10:07pmOh God...I've tried to pretty much blank out Encore. I think I liked 2 songs on it, then I got sick of them. The sampling just became too much and the "Quest appearences" too frequent.
Business on The Eminem Show, however, may be one of my favorite tracks of all time. As is Sing for the Moment. It's always nice to see a rapper that can make you laugh yet take himself seriously. I think it's a bad thing he's coming out of retirement though...Unless in the 2 years he's been out he's gotten his muse back =] quote |

Yeah, definitely check those out. I just downloaded the sheet music to all his sonatas, hahaha. quote |
Sanctus Ignis wrote on Sep 13th, 2007 2:33amOh you're thinking of the sonatas. Good stuff anyway, I'm going to work up the rest of No. 8 "Pathetique" (have Mvt. 2 done).
There are 5 Piano Concertos (as in for piano and orchestra). Check out No. 3 and No. 5. quote |

Anyways, my top favorite composers now would have to be Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Stravinsky, Ravel, Scriabin, and Beethoven. Pieces...that's just way too complicated. Let's see:
ANYTHING by Chopin
Rachmaninoff: Basically anything, but especially Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Piano Concertos No. 2 in C Minor and No. 3 in D Minor, Prelude in Bb Major, Op. 23 No. 2 (I wanna learn that sooo bad! >.<
Beethoven: Piano Sonatas No. 23 in F Minor ("Appassionata"), Op. 27 No. 2 in C# Minor ("Moonlight")..played that one, and No. 8 in C Minor ("Pathetique"), Piano Concertos No. 3 in C Minor and No. 5 in Eb Major, Symphony No. 9 in D Minor
Ravel: Gaspard de la Nuit (one of THE greatest solo piano works ever)
Uhh I can't think of any more right now, haha. That was certainly a mouthful though. quote |
