That's part of how we differ. Most forms of Christianity break off of an earlier form of religion, and like it says on the web page... well, it can explain it better than I.

The thing with the not drinking is what the Mormon church does is they have this thing called the word of wisdom which basically outlines things you shouldn't do when it comes to eating and drinking. Such as not smoking, no coffee or tea, alcohol, things like that. And the reason for it is because those things have the potential to be addicting, which, if you've ever known an addict, can be a really hard thing to overcome. I mean, even if I wasn't mormon, I wouldn't smoke or whatever, cause it's just bad for you. You can't really argue that. What other questions do you have?
