I have a tendency to ignore blogs on sites like this and Facebook. But I figure I could allow the opportunity to have others read this.
Anyways, I'm gonna be working on some new music in the next few months. Some more solo material. I already got an instrumental track finished, that I just need to add some vocals to. I'm considering starting another artist account for it, because it's a "semi-permanent" collaboration, and we've given it a name: Borealia.
I think I may add some playing skills soon. Maybe tomorrow? Not that I have any playing skills that are unique or warranting attention. Technically, I'm not even that great of a guitarist (my solos kind of sound like Mike Oldfield thinking he's David Gilmour), and I am actually completely unable to sweep .
Anyways, I am currently giving "The Marrow Of A Bone" by Dir en grey a spin again after a long hiatus. Everything always seems to sound better when I take a break from it. I also got The Ocean Collective's album "Precambrian". Sounds like a mix between Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan, with just enough prog in it to make it awesome. I also got The Mars Volta's new album, "The Bedlam In Goliath". It's a tad of a disappointment, really. While it's not a bad album, per se, it seems too much like a condensed version of everything they've done to date. Almost as if they're just going through the motions, instead of taking their time to make something really good. Also managed to acquire Daath's album "The Hinderers". I guess good modern death metal really does exist!
I'm pretty sleepy. Been a long, boring weekend, but tomorrow, I can mail out my course forms and start working on my final credit within the week! So long as my dad doesn't kick me out of the house before I finish . There's also another band practice this weekend, hopefully. With any luck, it'll go better than last weekend's. I'm bringing up the challenge of writing an instrumental. I mean, an honest-to-god instrumental with no intention of ever adding vocals to it. That would rock pretty hard, especially because of how we don't have a singer at the moment
