it's pretty easy. the most annoying part is ordering all the parts in bulk, but it still only ends up being around $10

fo sho, that is the foundation of my on-the-verge-of-breakup rhythm tone. for solos i boosted it with a TS9 and it sounds oh so sweet. AND...i'm about to send it in to keeley for the phat mod probably

sounds like a good idea. i might try that with the blues driver.

ha, just do the phat mod yourself. that's what i did, except for the switch.

hey Erock, how do you like the jeff loomis shecter? i hear its pretty great, but not very versatile.

I thought it was a great guitar man. Sounded mean, and played fast. The neck seemed a bit thinner than the other C-7's, but that could have been my imagination with the maple board. I wouldn't call it that versatile either, it's aimed squarely at metal being Jeff's signature. It's missing a tone control, which in itself takes away a bit of flexibility, but that also boosts the output, since you would normally have a 25k pot there to ground. It's actually a hotrodded EMG sound.

unfortunately not. XD Found it on the Petrucci Forum. Ask if it was legit and got an awnser from like 3 or 4 persons that it is real.

DUDE! get some pictures of your DC-5 up i'd love to see it.

alright, I'll see what I can do. They'll probably be kind of low quality cell phone pics since I have no clue how to upload stuff of a digital camera onto a computer.

Thanks mate,
The VH4 is tighter, darker and fatter sounding, and has an very immediate response that's kinda love/hate. Obviously, I love it, but you'll have to try for yourself to understand I think.

I use my Graphic EQ all the time. I don't think it sounds anywhere near as good without it.

same here. sometimes i use my cleans without it, but i like to keep it on all the time. i love how in the manual it says it is an accessory not a necessity, but it really is necessary.

have you played any engl amps before?

yeah man, I use the manual they give you with the amp to track all my settings, and I take it with me wherever I go. I can go all the way from Petrucci to Page man. The cleans sound really good too, but I don't like the reverb with distortion, but I love reverb with clean, so I guess I'll have to buy a reverb pedal. :(

oh ok. how is the dragon? i think i read on the mesa forum that they have a similar sound to some rectos.

10x more low end, less presence, more upper end harmonics. I really don't like the sound of it's metal channel alone but it's a great blender amp.

No not anymore. Sold it to buy the Framus Dragon.

I havnt really tryed to get jazzy tones out of it but im sure that the clean chan could do it with ease. the crunch cannal is good for metal tones all I need is my condishioner pedal and myEQ pedal and I get the tone I like thats kinda metalish

travd92 wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 at 9:42pm :

hey cta-joey, is it possible to get jazzy tones and metal tones out of your mesa single rectoverb?

I really like Naked, man. Nice 'n' bouncy. I think it progresses well. Drums and a bass would do it a lot of good though.

Thanks for critting mine.
