If you have a solid state amp I definately recommend you get it, because with the "deep" knob (extra bass) it gives you a nice low end that I've never been able to find with anything other than a tube amp. Since buying my 6505+ i've used it less, but now I have it as a slight crunch boost for some of my clean solos. Overall the thing sounds great. quote |
cerveza wrote on Jun 18th, 2008 9:48pmhey man I would be glad to help. Pro tools is great. It can do a lot of things that a lot of other DAW's (Digital Audio Workstation) can't. As for it being unnecessary, i don't find it that way. Anyone who tells you that cakewalk is the best way to go is (IMO) out of their mind. How many professional recording studios out there are using cakewalk? hardly any. Pro Tools? 99.9%. That's what made my decision for me.
as far as setup I am running a Digidesign Digi 002 rack unit to a G5 iMac, and out of KRK Rok-It monitors.
the digi 002 uses Firewire, whereas less expensive units like the MBox use USB. Firewire is the way to go, it's higher quality.
any other questions, I would be glad to help. quote |
