an interesting article on the "11 mistakes guitarists make"

i think every mistake is pretty much where i am in my guitar playing life at the moment. so its good to see an outside objective view on some of the mistakes i realize i have been making for the past few years.

Great article!

Thanks for the articles on getting signed and pursuing it and everything, it's an amazing help :) it's something I've been set on for years in pursuing now but everyone's been saying I'm just dreaming and that I'd need luck, reading your article's helped me a lot with keeping at it, and not giving up on it, thanks so much =]

Tom: i have so much respect for you, and i read a lot of your articles. i'm 17, and i've been playing guitar for a little over 5 years now. I'll be a senior in high school and am trying to figure out how to make a musical career in the christian rock business. I play in a christian rock band called Rev2Ten (www.myspace.com/Rev2Ten) I know you're a busy individual but if you please check us out and tell me what you think? Some of our recordings are rather old, the newest one being Silent Scream. I'm not on other recordings but that one, but i know how to play them all note for note. We're unique. we have a girl singer that has the soul of Joplin but has the attitude of Benetar, our bassist is a Die hard Gene Simmons and Billy Shehan fan, me: Satch, Wylde, Dimebag and Angus Young, and our drummer is into prog rock and Neal Pert and Mike Portnoy. we're trying to record at the recording workshop near Chilocothe Ohio and will start soon.

hey man.

dude ive just read part 1 of the how to become a professional guitarist .. ... incredible dude. usually id look at a big chunk of text like that and give up and go shred. But this dude, you had me hooked from the start. Im inspired, i am the average teenager who just looks at bands these days and just wish it was me wielding a Dean V infront of five thousand people. Call me egocentric but i think i have the attributes for "the right person". I stay up everynight till about 1 playing to a metronome, im patient, i have a passion for music and im willing to do what it takes. I in my last year of high school and hoping to go to a music college and i have nothing to fall back on. If music dosent work for me im screwed. So thankyou very much dude for this inspiring article.

peace and love bro.
