webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 3:37am| The CIA tried to "top off" Hussein since the '80s when he invaded Kuwait. How is it illegal? They failed for 20+ years, but that doesn't make their attempts illegal just shitty. |
How's it illegal? Because it's murder? Because it is the sanctioned killing of a man who had, by that point, not initiated any hostilities with the US whatsoever? A man who the US put there in the first place, and gave an awful lot of support to during the Iran-Iraq war?

webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 3:37amWhen did I accuse you of being personally responsible, exactly? Stop knee-jerking. Cut back on the pointless Europe-bashing, it makes you sound fucking juvenile.
The US has an appalling HR record, and running around the world saying 'this guy's a bastard' is hilarious when half of the people in power with bad records are there by the direct fault of US foreign policy.
| Whereas a single fucking person, Saddam Hussein, did take responsibility for the treatment of individuals in Iraq. |
The Sauds are personally responsible for all the HR violations that occur in Saudi Arabia. Why aren't they being invaded exactly? quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 3:11amWhile I'm at it:
http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=32693
It is also hypocrisy of the finest kind to condemn Saddam's human rights record when
A: the US HR record is terrible
and
B: The US is a happy ally of Saudi Arabia. quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 3:09amThat's absolute bullshit. The war was illegal by the very virtue that it occured not out of self-defence, which is a pretty bloody central bit of international law. The fact that the US was happily swanning around trying to take Saddam out is a joke unto itself, considering they put him there in the first place. The CIA happily trying to top Saddam is also highly illegal, and it doesn't take a fucking law student to know how or why.
What you're insinuating there is that the US government is entitled to kill anyone it fancies throughout the world. quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 2:55amAre you seriously defending Saddam Hussein?
Despite this, you missed my point entirely. Saddam Hussein would never have allowed American troops to enter Iraq to dispel Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda operatives in Iraq were a threat to the soldiers in Afghanistan. One chief principle of war is to eliminate an enemy's supplies, which cannot be done if they have a base of operations that cannot be attacked. |
Saddam wasn't protecting them, and was just as keen to get them out of the country as everyone else because (how many times do I have to say this) HE DIDN'T LIKE THEM.
| The issue of Saddam Hussein is a separate matter, the CIA operatives sent to kill Hussein had failed multiple times. Those attempts did not stop between the '90s and 2001, the war with Saddam never stopped. |
How this is related to anything I have no idea.

webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 2:54am| No, he had only: invaded Kuwait, killed nearly 2 million Irani and Iraqi, refused to offer proof of his weapons (not nuclear weapons, other WMDs anthrax and the like), oppressed and killed the women of Iraq under Sharia Law, which of these makes him a tyrant? |
Iraq wasn't under Shariah law. Women were allowed to be educated, and there was even a synagogue in Baghdad. Also, last time I checked, Iraq was invaded because it was seen as a threat because of the famous WMDs which, note, didn't exist. All this liberation nonsense only started being spouted once it became clear that Iraq had been falsely invaded, and once it became clear that capitalising on Saddam being a twat would be a good way of covering it all up.
quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 2:31amThat's absolute nonsense. Nonsense on stilts. There are Al-Quaeda people operating in Britain, but America hasn't invaded. Know why? Because the government has no hand in it whatsoever. Saddam was a secularist and absolutely refused to get involved in a religious conflict, and as such taking him out using Al-Quaeda as an excuse is absolutely vile. He did not support Osama or Al-Quaeda - so why did he get invaded? Invading Iraq because they had a hand in 9/11 would be one thing; as it stands, America happily went over there with there cronies and invaded a country which had never, ever, attacked the US.
So stop spouting this nonsense about Iraq being a retaliatory war. Absolute rubbish. quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 2:07amPlease, please tell me you're aware that Osama fucking hated Saddam and neither of them wanted anything to do with each other.
Please. quote |
webbtje wrote on Nov 17th, 2009 1:55amAnd you thought you'd shoehorn in some ridiculous notion that I don't care about 9/11 because I live in London.
That's why I called you a child. You could be 40 and I'd still call that out as a childish, stupid, shit-throwing argument worthy of the playground. quote |
divinorum69 wrote on Sep 23rd, 2009 10:32pmThanks, Ill have to try the Vypyr.
The thing is IM certain I wont by an amp here on my country they are three times more expensive here. So If I buy one it should have to be on the states, so a cab is quite out of reach, because I cant bring one on the plane. So really im looking for heads.
Ive also seen Budda Amps, and to be honest they are way expensive but I found them the best, very versatile, any thought? quote |

Are you still planning on turning your VK into a head?
I've got a couple ideas, but how are you going to make the enclosure? I was going to use the original body but I am considering starting from scratch. |
It's a pipe dream, I guess...
I'd rather start from scratch because that would preserve the original body in case I ever decide to sell it. Plus it'd allow for custom tolex... mmm.

how do you like your VK-122?
You mean VK 112?
I like it a lot, but I have swapped out the speaker and done a few other mods. It's really not loud enough for band practice, if your drummers set is as ungodly loud as mine is. I've got a tone with mine that is a lot like Thomas Erak's from The Fall of Troy.
Yeah I meant the Vk 112.
You have the amp head right? or yuo have the combo amp? |
Thanks a lot for your help, Im really considering buying the amp head now!
