Hey there, I'm Kristen. I guess if you're reading this you probably want to know more about me. I mainly pick bluegrass banjo, but I also play synth, mandolin, electric guitar, and a few other instruments. I've been playing in total for about 5 1/2 years. Musically, I'm really an extreme metal girl (folk, funeral doom, and brutal death), but I also love bluegrass, old school country, cheesy 80s new wave, trance, and jazz (the harder stuff, none of that swing or big band stuff, and especially not smooth jazz).
I was playing synth for a while in some sort of melodeath/doom band. It's sort of like Agalloch, Insomnium, and Katatonia, but also with hints of Emperor, Thergothon, and plenty of other stuff. At the moment we are on indefinite hiatus due to all of us being busy. In addition, I have a few side projects, my main ones being Gespenst (black metal) and Keket (tech death). You can find stuff on my Soundcloud page:
As far as my personal life, I'm an MtF transsexual. I have started transitioning (well... kind of) recently. I have a blog if you're interested in reading it. Apart from music, I enjoy making band logos and watching American football (NY Giants). I'm currently going to school for media production, with a strong leaning towards audio. I work at my campus radio station as the Music Director.
I come across as very cynical and pessimistic, though I'm not really like that at all. It's just more fun to be that way. Most of the stuff that I post in the forums isn't serious at all. I go out of my way to make it extremely hard to differentiate between when I'm being serious and when I'm not, though I'm almost always serious about things related to gender/sexuality and banjo playing. If you actually are offended by anything I post, it's your fault because you're probably just a terrible person.
If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.
