I typically use the ultra channel for metal rhythym playing. T/6, M/4, B/6, G/5. Fat OFF. Pres/7, Res/6. Plus I'm running EL34's and V30's so they provide some nice midrange grind. The Noise Gate is just a simple hiss eliminator and it works well. I use a seperate noise gate for killing feedback.

Inside of Emptiness is definitely one of my favorites of his, but lately I've been listening to the Empyrean alot again
