I was trying to find some good, inexpensive parts to put into my old First Act guitar. Do any of you know of any good pickups and such that don't cost a riddiculous amount of money?
Do you guys have any tips? I've never modified a guitar before, so this is kind of a new experiance for me.
I ordered my guitar yesterday. It should be at my house around Tuesday. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited.
I recently wrote a new song, and revived 2 old ones, and I'm currently working on some old songs my band mate emailed me. I have to make tunes for them, or otherwise strip 'em for parts.
Bad car metaphore, I know.
Anyway, I'm off to bed. I hope you guys had as much creative energy as I do right now.
Not a whole lot going on right now. I might not be able to get that guitar I wanted so soon, but maybe in a few weeks. My checks lately haven't been the highest paying, but I can't complain.
Any way, some of you have been asking questions about my recording program. It's Audacity. You can download the program for free, and it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, so pretty much anyone can use it. I haven't gotten to use it yet myself, but I have heard what other people can do with it, and I'm pretty excited. Sure, it's not exactly "studio quality", but it's a good deal, and simple to use, and just what I need to get started.
The hard drive that I'm planning on getting is an external hard drive by Western Digital. It's a 500gb, and it's only $100. And Western Digital is one of the best hard drive makers out there.
The guitar I want to get is a Dean Vendetta w/ tremolo. It's %120
The amp I want to get is a Behringer, and it's $199
I also want to get a Behringer mixing board. I'll probably check on eBay to get a good price.
Let me know if you guys have any more questions/ comments. Do you guys think that this equipment would be good?
So, I got the recording program last night (along with the manual). But I haven't got the mixer yet because the guy couldn't find the power cable for. So in a few days when he does, he's gonna come over an set everything up for me.
And my wrists kinda hurt from using the hand grips. But it's a good hurt, like I've actually stuck to something rather than procrastinate (as I tend to do).
"If you thought I'd leave, then you were wrong..."

I've perked up a bit since Tuesday. Mosty because I'm probably getting my recording stuff tonight! After that, all I'll need is an external hard drive.
Other than that, not much else is going on.
I bought some athletic hand grips to exercise with. Mostly because I felt like it (and I want to be able to work on car as a hobby, and I need stronger hands for that). I didn't even think of what it could do for my guitar playing! Hopefully I'll be seeing some results soon.
So, I've been pretty upset lately over some silly things, and serious things. I was keeping my mind off of them by reading, but I finished the book, and my friend won't be able to get me the second one until Saturday. So now I'm bored, and all the things have rushed into my head again.
On a lighter note, one of my guitar tabs was accepted. That was pretty cool. I worked really hard on it too.
Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions on cheering up a bit...
I wrote another new song recently. I'm really proud of it, and everyone I've played it for has gotten pretty excited over it. I got a new fan the other day. She was smiling the whole time I was playing, and that was pretty cool. She told me I was awesome and that I need to hurry up with the recording stuff.
As soon as I can, I'm going to get that guitar I was talking about. I forgot to mention what it is. It's a Dean Vendetta w/tremolo. I'm planning on getting it in blue, just because I'm a sucker for blue guitars. It's nothing too fancy, so it's perfect for me, and it's a Dean, which is one of the best brands out there for guitars. And, unlike Fender, they have good quality, low budget guitars. I've never heard anyone say anthing bad about Dean.
I'm gonna jam now. I've been trying to expand my guitar skills lately. I've been "picking" for a few years now, but I've never really focused on it, and I think it would be a good investment of my time.
I wrote a few new songs over the past week. I'm pretty proud of them. One I'm thinking about re-writing the lame lyrics. The music is awesome, though. Lately I've been in a kind of punk rock mood. Everything that comes out of me either sounds like Paramore, Yellowcard, or Bayside oddly enough.
I'm still working on getting recording equipment. First we have to expand my hard drive, but beofre that we have to find out how big of a hard drive my computer can handle.
I'm planning on getting a new electric guitar really soon. Probably with one of my next 2 paychecks. I'll get some pics up once I do.
Mostly just talking to myself I suppose.
It's nearly 1 am. Good night.
For those who are reading this, I just signed up to UG today. For years I've been using this site to learn songs and expand my guitar playing skills, but I never thought about joining the community.
I really love this site, and I've relied on it more than once. Hopefully I will use UG to it's fullest so I can have the best experiance possible!
To let you in on my actual life, my friend and I formed a band together a few years ago. We've gained and lost members, so far to the point where it's just the two of us now, with me on guitar and she doing vocals. I can't count how many band names we went through, but we finally landed on our current title, Stupid Tuesday.
