nothing incredibly interesting to post about. i've been spending more time improving my singing and writing lately rather than my guitar skills, and that has proven to be pretty productive. i've been giving a few friends some song writing tips, and both of them are learning a lot, more than i anticipated. (can't wait to read more from you guys!)
i started recording some new song demos last night for DTS. one of which was just a simple rhythm guitar part i came up with this week, and joel and tyler both wanted to hear it to see what they could do with it. the other song is a full song i wrote not too long ago, but i'm not going to reveal it to the band until we're closer to finishing the song we're working on now.
So yeah, the band has made a Facebook page, which is pretty awesome. Click the link below to view it, and become a fan to receive updates on the band! We need as much support as we can get right now, and anything from you guys will be much appreciated!
Dim the Stars is really coming along. We now have an official bassist in the band (welcome, Miles!), and we're talking with a drummer who just sent in an awesome demo to us!
And I want to send out a special thanks on behalf of the band to my buddy across the puddle for offering to master our songs for us. Thanks Bryn! You rock!
Please check out our profile at the bottom of my page, and wish us luck on our new endeavor!
Our online pop punk band is finally getting going! We have a band profile page (which you can find through my profile page). We're still looking for a bassist and drummer though. We've had a couple of guys offer to be our bassist, and they both have the creds to pull it off, but we're still waiting to hear back from them for an official answer or not.
I wrote new song for Dim the Stars, and recorded a demo for the guys to work with. They're working hard to add their own style to the song right now. We're getting pretty close to recording, which is a big encouragment. Any advice is totally welcome.
Haven't posted a blog in a while. So just a little overview of what's going on with me.
I've been working with a friend here on UG. We're trying to start our own online band, and right now we're still looking at names. Pretty cool ideas right now. We're aiming for a pop punk/ alt rock band. Things are falling into place quite nicely. So far we have him on guitar and me on vocals, still looking for a bassist, and I've gotten someone to agree to lay down some digi drums with EZ drummer when we've got something recorded. If you have any tips or contributions at all on this, please let me know (especially if you want to help lay down some tracks, lol)
Still writing songs, still playing guitar, still recording. Having a good time, and just trying to work out the best sound I can get. Lots of experimenting. Again, any tips are totally welcome.
Anyway, that's about it. Hopefully things with the band will really work out, because both of us are really excited about it.
So, lately I've been really trying to improve my guitar skills. Kinda like always, but seriously a lot this time. Any tips?
I'm totally listening to Cauterize and loving every second. They rock.
So many musicians in this city, and their all taken. I don't evn know how many years my friend and I have been trying to complete our band.
At least I know a drummer. He's in a band though. And you know what? It's my brother's band. My brother who is 5 years older than the both of us. And they never practice anymore. Now I'm rambling.
Anyway, if you like music give me a shout! Yeah, that was lame...

I haven't been on here for a while. Anytime I've gottne on I was looking for tabs.
Well, I've been working on recording stuff a lot lately. There's one song that I've almost finished. I might put it up when it's done.
I've also been expanding my guitar skills. I've been playing around with more interesting rhythm lines, and adding lead lines to plain rhythms. I think I've really learned some new things about guitar playing, and I hope it shows.
I've written a couple of new songs recently. One has some great music to bounce off the lyrics nicely. I'm been playing around in my recording program with it, and so far it sounds good. I'm almost done recording the music for it, and when that's done I'll get my friend to come in to sing it.
Anyway, I've been busy with music. I'm going to try to get on here as a user a little bit more than I have the past few months.
That's right. I finally got around to posting on of my original songs up here. It's and instrumental, and I recorded it in about 30 minutes, so it's not the best quality. Later on I'll probably add more to it to fill it up a bit more, but for now it's just as simple as it can be. It's called "The Long Journey".
Please listen and let me know what you think! I love constructive critism.
I've been pretty distracted lately by other things. Trying to organize stuff and learning new songs... you know, normal stuff that tends to pile up on a person with unnatural levels of creativity.
I have good news: I've officially started recording.
I know I should've told you guys earlier, and I'm sorry.
Anyway, I'm having problems getting the vocal recording to work out just right. I'm going to order a pop filter before I go any further.
Wish me luck on my new endevour!

(also, I've just submitted a new guitar tab for Paramore's new song "Decode". I'll let you know if it gets accepted!)
