Do you like it better than rez? In my mind, I think I'd prefer that.

I get along well with my roomates, so I prefer living off campus. I like having my own house, its quiet. Last year in rez it was quite loud most of the time. During the day thats not so bad, but at night it gets annoying.

There's plenty of rock artists who release "manufactured shit" too. Just because they can play an instrument and write their own songs doesn't mean the song structures, melodies, and more importantly: the ideologies and images associated with their music and themselves aren't moronic or commercialized.

Obviously pop music is saturated with commercialism, but so are many other genres. I don't understand why you'd decide to target one in particular.

Name one rock/metal band , or song that is too commercialized

You May remember that in may you posted a comment on my group ANTI-POP.

Right, cause when you use a minor key, it's art, but when you use a major key, it's not.
It has nothing to do with the tonality of the key . . . Actuallly , I made this group for my disgust at manafactured shit, people who dont write their own songs and are making millions for it. I do like some pop music people but they are people who have proper , self written songs that mean a little more than "la la ooh la la". That use real instruments. I may not like rap but i respect it because it takes a talent, a skill and some of the songs are like poetry. Examples on my ipod include Newton Faulkner, Paolo Nutini, Mumford and Sons. These people have happy songs and sad ones, play popular songs and i like them . Some of the video posts on my group are quite funny and kinda catchy.

Sweet, I look forward to seeing it :)

you should be, it was amazing. I almost cried during Bane's set lol. And Strike anywhere sounds the exact same live, and the singer still has dreadlocks haha

Aah that's awesome, I gotta see them at some point.
Doesn't look like it's gonna be this tour though, after like... 3 US dates they're going to Australia :/

I think it's still in theatres in Japaa, lol. My friend has a subbed copy - the video was filmed in the theatre, so it's not the best quality. But you can make out most of it.

Well, that explains why I'm not finding much :p
I'll catch it at some point though, I really wanna see it.

Yeah, I really liked Haruhi. Still gotta watch the movie, though.

Haha, don't worry I've only been 2 "real" ones this year. The rest were either my band's shows, or other local bands/bands from out of town.

And the ska band is pretty much on hiatus now while our drummer undergoes chemo therapy (he has lymphoma). ):

Aaaah, gotcha. I'd like to go to more local shows, but the one legitimate local band around here just split up because their vocalist went to college or something. They weren't half bad either.

Awww damn, that SUCKS. Hope he's doing well, though, in any case.

Ah I see. I'm going to see Strike anywhere in 3 weeks ^_^ I don't really listen to them that much, but their music makes me feel..good? lol.

That's cool, should be pretty fun. I quite like them.
I'm actually going to see Streetlight Manifesto next month, first show I'll have actually gone to this year. I'm slackin' a little bit :p

are you guys still a band?

Yeah, but you wouldn't know it. We haven't practiced or.. well, even been in the same room since sometime in March. Hopefully summer might work for some stuff, before we lose our trombonist.

haha awesome, I'm glad it made it to you. And thank you very much! I know there's plenty of timing issues here and there (mainly due to how we recorded) and it's not the best quality, but it's pretty good considering we did everything ourselves.

My favourite song is actually one of the "bonus" tracks - the slow dub one lol

Aah yeah, I heard the timing issues here and there, but nothing that couldn't be overlooked, it's all there, and I enjoyed it. Better than my band's... one original, unrecorded song by a longshot :p
