Radman_Paiza wrote on Feb 25th, 2011 8:56pm I much prefer Actions and Reactions over Happy Hippy Ho, probably because it's a much easier listen and I'm currently quite exhausted. It feels like some sort of interlude track in a progressive rock album. Contrary to other commenters, I don't find it boring at all. Just very soothing and relaxed. quote |

RAH7747 wrote on Mar 3rd, 2010 2:13pm Hey, thanks for the crit on my piece. I know I have to improve on that solo but I just can't seem to think of one.. he he..
I see why you were the first to crit mine as your piece here is pretty similar..
Anyway, this song is pretty good coz the production is amazing (GP file I presume?) and the lead guitar is kinda having a jazzy feel to it.. kinda like Dire Straits to a certain extent.. A lot of portions didn't have a lead, and I felt there could be some extra lines.. Even the bass can be a little more prominent than how it is here.. But overall, it's a very simple and atmospheric song and I think it serves its purpose.. cheers! quote |
Carl6661 wrote on Feb 21st, 2010 9:57pm Not normally what I'd listen to atall, but I really liked this. Very chilled out and relaxing, but also very exciting at the same time. I really don't know what to say, there was basically NOTHING wrong with it. Production was very good, especially seeing as it's a Guitar Pro file. I'm seriously impressed. quote |
Kentris.5 wrote on Feb 21st, 2010 1:44pm That was a pretty enjoyable piece, but I'm a sucker for acoustic arpeggiation. I think if it was spiced up with either some vocals or a little more instrumentation for depth, like some bass lines going on in the background, it would be super solid. It's still pretty darn good as it is though. quote |
Puppet_616 wrote on Feb 9th, 2010 6:20pm Hey thanks for the crit
This piece sounds really nice and atmospheric. Almost haunting in places, although there does seem to be a while in the middle where it's quite "long" or feel that way as there's not much going on. Apart from that, good work quote |
Seb1uk wrote on Feb 6th, 2010 4:01pm Real nice sound on the intro, nice chords. And the solo's quite sick. But I got disappointed afterwards, no real progression on anything. Was really expecting more after the good start. Just got kinda bored. I like the atmosphere of the piece though, but just work on it some more, it's got potential quote |
Gerbs wrote on Jan 11th, 2010 9:32pm Hey,
Cheers for the crit, i'm listening to yours now.
Lurverly guitar tone on the solo melody... It reminds me of a sort of more shreddy Opeth. The guitar behind it is also nice, i like the occasional faster part (sixteenths?), it spices it up somewhat. My main qualm so far that the song never really 'changes' so to speak. I realise that it's supposed to be more minimalistic, with various ideas around the one part, but i wasn't captivated the whole time... I enjoyed the parts though, i think there might just need to be a bit of variation, maybe in the main rhythm guitar at one or more points? Thoughts for expansion on the piece for now, anyway. As it stands it's good, i just think it could be a lot better with more varied parts to it quote |

Jake the Peg wrote on Jan 7th, 2010 2:48pm nice ideas in there - really like it. kinda reminds me of the dire straits...
i think you could do with a bit more of a melodic theme to hold it all together - the solo/arpeggiated chords do get repetitive. i don't think its too happy, its almost bluesy with that solo tone. maybe you could add a harmony solo guitar? though that may well kill the vibe. try to incorporate something memorable into it - without being rude, at the moment its a chord progression and some fret wank. has loads of potential, and lots of opeth-esque melancholy! nice work&thanks for the crit : ) quote |
Austyn6661 wrote on Dec 13th, 2009 11:15pm Very chill, awesome lead. The rhythm I find is a little meh, it's almost too upbeat for the melancholy lead. As said, it gets a little repetitive near the end, but still, it was pretty sweet.

DragTheWaters11 wrote on Nov 2nd, 2009 5:55pm Very nice piece of work on the Actions and Reactions piece. It gets a bit boring with the repetitiveness towards the middle. But other than that, everything fit really well and there's nothing I can really complain about. Maybe add some beautiful electric guitar towards the end? quote |
