sum_ugly_man wrote on May 22nd, 2008 7:50pmI took the back off, the amp is at my drummer's and it's amazing. Cuts through everything at about 50% of the volume or so. And it's not really muddy at this volume. I'm satisfied quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on May 20th, 2008 12:18pmYou have a fish n' chips right? I might spring for the MXR 6 band one cause I have had bad experiences with danelectros. also I noticed a slight difference in tone. I also put some Styrofoam under the amp to make it project better and cut some low end frequency. quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on May 17th, 2008 5:35pmDude, I just had an idea. Why not take off the back panel of the Traynor to get rid of some mud? Any thoughts on this? quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on May 14th, 2008 10:39pmthanks for everything man. But you reckon' I would get some clarity with a 6/10 band MXR EQ in front of the amp? Cause the gain channel is kind loose and typical JCM900-esque only a bit tighter. Know what I'm saying right? quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on May 9th, 2008 8:08pmDude I finally remembered my MSN password, and whoa dude that mail was pretty helpful, even though most of the stuff was Greek to me.
Ok I was playing my beauty today and my amp leaned forward about 3 inches and sat back down with some force when my chord got wrapped around the amp(I have no idea about). So the reverb spring obviously made some noise, but it works fine. The whole amp looks and sounds the same. So I looked back and I could only see one of the pre amp tubes from the holes on the amp. The power amps are right next the speakers but isn't the amp supposed to have 3 pre amp tubes and 2 power amp ones? can you post a picture just pointing where they are supposed to be? cause the bolts near the handle get extremely hot and I almost burnt myself with them the other day. quote |

sum_ugly_man wrote on Apr 30th, 2008 5:18pmI actually love the amp now, Speakers are almost broken in, huge difference in gain(in a good way) and not even half as muddy. Several other Traynor users have told me to use the volume to control the sound of the amp, So i put my channel volume at about 1-2 and the master at 7-8, Sparkle Sparkle quote |

sum_ugly_man wrote on Apr 20th, 2008 9:06pmThe amp can get the tone, I achieved it in the guitar store with a strat with vintage noiseless pickups. But my crappy ones make it sound like shit. Now to trade my stuff in for a better guitar and probably a THD hotplate for obvious reasons. quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on Apr 20th, 2008 11:15amJust put one up, It's not the best, but I still can't get my guitar to intonate properly quote |
sum_ugly_man wrote on Apr 20th, 2008 1:30amSo far man, i'm in complete in love with the beast, It has a surprising amount of gain. ONly thing is that the amp is somewhat muddy at low volumes, but you reckon I can fix that with an EQ in front? and i still need to get a decent guitar, my guitar with LTD with crap humbuckers don't do the amp any justice, while my other strat sopy with single coils won't stay in tune I am working on clips by the way quote |
