Favorite guitarists :
Mike Einziger from Incubus is my absolute favourite, the things he can do with six strings and 24 frets never cease to amaze me.
Bradley Nowell from Sublime is another favourite, if only for the passion he had for the music he made. R.I.P.
I also really like Jeff Buckley's guitar work. I think it's sometimes overshadowed by his collossal voice, which is a shame because it really is wonderful.
And Kevin Cadogan who used to play for Third Eye Blind. His licks were unique, very melodic and most importantly extremely powerful. He made those first two 3EB albums amazing.
I'd love to be an amalgamation of those four guitarists.
Favorite bassists :
Ben Kenney from Incubus
Eric Wilson from Sublime
Nick Oliveri from Queens of the Stone Age
Favorite books :
I'm just starting to read again after many years of laziness and indifference to literature so I'll list some of my favourite books from when I was younger.
The work of Roald Dahl. Especially The BFG, The Twits and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Great Glass Elevator
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S Lewis
Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
I'm currently cultivating a reading list which has works from Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Albert Camus, Joseph Heller and Franz Kafka. If you have any suggestions of good reads please let me know. I'm interested in books about life and the human condition more so than hum-drum fantasy, crime and thriller novels.
Favorite tv :
The Sony that sits in the lounge and beams government-engineere d subliminal messages that render me docile and suggestible into my brain.
I like to watch Dexter and latter South Park.
Favorite movies :
Into the Wild for it's grandiose message and enthralling story.
Waking Life for it's stirring existentialist discussions and out-of-this-world animation.
Revolver for the gigantic mind-fuck that it is.
Me, Myself and Irene for the magic of Jim Carey.
Fight Club, because I am a man.
Rumblefish for it's beauty and it's soundtrack.
Any of Quentin Tarantino's movies because QT is my homie.
