Rap Music Rant

Hip-hop, rap, and other pointless attempts at music.

This is my blog about my thoughts on rap music. It is posted originally on my Myspace page.

http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog .view&friendID=190066374&blogID=457930042

So basically anyone who has talked to me much knows my undying hate for the rap industry.
Because really that's all it is, an industry.

There is no passion in rap, there is no effort.
The famous names you hear today on MTV and the radio are the few people the record industries saw as marketable and acceptable.
You could pick any person off the street and there's a one in five chance they could rap just as well as anyone on your ipod.

Hip-hop is the same shit to me,
computerized beats and fake people,
the "artist" doesn't feel any attachment to their work and couldn't care less whether or not anyone really enjoys their album.
As long as one song makes it onto a chart and brings in enough cash,
the rest of their work is expendable garbage.

And those too shallow to even press a few buttons and put together a backing track go ahead and steal from others who have invested their time into a piece.
My hatred in this topic goes toward Vanilla Ice, the asshole who shamelessly stole from one of the greatest bands ever, Queen, and then denied it.
Shows how much respect these people have for real musicians.

And don't say "WTF that was so long ago",
what about the douche bags who fucked up Crazy Train, a work from the heart by guitar legend Randy Rhoads?
They just don't get it.

I can't wait for all the rap "artists" to fade away,
to become distant memories when they piss away what's left of their fortunes and fall back down to our level.

Then there's the whole "gangsta" bull shit.
I would strangle each and everyone one of them with my bare hands if you gave me the chance.
Cowards who know they can't intimidate anyone alone join together and become an anonymous face in a dirty crowd.
Anything they do is futile and will never mean anything in the big picture. This whole gang thing is pointless bull shit.
There is no common bond, they would all stab each other in the back if it meant they would gain from it.
Any industry that promotes dressing, talking, and acting like a retard should be torn down.

The rap industry needs to be revealed for what it is,
capitalization on the ignorance of the masses.

Agreed. Thoughts of a 13 year old if you ask me. Have you ever listened to Nas or Tupac? You don't know anything of hiphop as a genre, you are just a little rock fanboy elitist. Grow up and learn to experiecne the genre as a whole before making judgements. What if rappers look at rock and make their judgements based on bands like Fall Out Boy and Nickleback? Same thing reversed. Stfu.

I find it funny that alot of rap steals alot of the old and OLD songs that most people don't even remember, remix it, use the SAME exact lyrics, and make it a hit single.

One perfect example is round round (is it called that??) by Flo rida.

Most rap isnt shit though. Only the one that is on the radio that have no meaning to the lyrics or do it just because record companies "think" they can rap good.

I like a ton of rap music.
Listen to some Jay Z or Kanye West or 2pac and you might change your mind about all that you said in that little rant.
