Welcome!
I have been playing guitar since I was 13. Mainly self taught jamming with an old cassette deck recording songs off the radio and rewinding and playing over and over again to work out chords etc. in an age before we had tabs on t'interweb...used to buy Guitarist mag and pour over it. Oh yes, things were a lot tougher in them days...haha...
Mainly been involved in acoustic based music through school/uni apart from brief flirt with band when 17 culminating in a one off gig at school. Hardcore. Since starting as a teacher my day to day musical challenges as a guitarist are as great as "Away in a Manger" and other such greats (obviously this is quite seasonal, but then I am writing this over Christmas hols!) Suppose I shouldn't complain too much, being able to play the guitar and get paid for it...never thought it be to an audience of 7-11 year olds tho...
Most recently rediscovered the joy that can be had from playing the guitar by purchasing a very fine Laney VC30 amp and have not looked back. Currently guesting in a dormant band called "The James Herriott Experience" with various friends, but as gigs are currently once a year, am looking for any jamming or gigging *for fun* that can be had whilst I cling onto the remanants of my twenties...yeah I know, sad fooker...
