you probably shorted something trying to turn your laptop on, open it, clean it, let it dry for a long time and try again in a few days. |
Thanks for the advice it works like a dream now. Think it just needed drying out.

I was randomly looking on threads and I saw you had 5 acoustic guitars. Just wondering how do the cheaper epiphones compare to the masterbilt one. I know nothing really about acoustics, but I want a good one that will last me for years. What would you recommend? |
If I had to choose from my current stable, (see "nutmegger1957" on YouTube for video reviews of all the guitars I currently own), I'd get rid of all but my Guild........THAT is my "baby!" (lol)

If I was to chose only one album I'd say Revolver

Postman Pat is/was a kids tv show used to watch it when i was a kid. youtube it. its quite a nice tune and its more leady then rhythemy. Need to really practice at lead am terrible at it. Done some scales but only got my crappy guitar with me at the mo can't barre with it, cuts my fingers. So can't play as much. Its a cheap acoustic got steel strings on it but got it with plastic strings. Not sure if it is supposed to have steel strings. Need a new guitar one i've got was only £20. Thanks for the advice anyway |
No problem...

thanks for the add. can you play this http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/m/misc_televis ion/postman_pat_theme_tab.htm i want to improve but i am finding it very difficult learned barre chords and open chords. Need to improve my lead a lot where should i start? |
Try picking the lead to your fav song that has tabs posted up, then practice it slow and split it into sections until you have it memorised. Once you remember it practice it faster and faster until you get to the song's right speed. Playing scales as warmups help make you faster and get to know your guitar better....I hope that was alittle helpful and not confusing :P!I will try that song this weekend...too much to do right now....who is Postman Pat, by the way? Any other questions...just ask whenever you want, I must warn you, though, I am not an expert but I have been playing for a little while...ttyl!-linds

How long you been playing for I've almost been playing a year. I can't play solos or lead any songs you can recommend? |
i recommend like some easy beatles songs and stuff
if you get those chords down you'll do great. But i recommend practicing simple riffs and stuff. and don't do what i did and just put off practicing for a while. i did that as a new guitarist and it still hurts me today.
i try to play solos but i'm not that great at it, especially when i try to write one. so i still try it, basing my solos off of Led Zeppelin songs or even crazy Dream Theater stuff. But the main thing is PRACTICE. never let that slip away
