Hahaha yes. I traded it for the '89 American Tele. My SG's head stock was in two pieces...I had it fixed, but it was never the same again.
Ahh...Okay. That's a shame. Good deal, though, Thinlines are pretty. I'd get one of those, if I ever got a Tele.
So about your tone thing, though...I would try adjusting the pickup height and pole piece height, as a quick fix. While Epi Pickups aren't great, height adjustment can make 'em work for you instead of against it.

So wait, you have an LP and a Tele? Didn't you have an SG at one point?

Thank you for listening!

No problem bro, I liked it a lot, simple but catchy.

Cheers. If I really like it, I'll find a way to conjure up the monies somehow. That sorta thing always happens with me. :)

Oh? I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it. Dyou think you could get clips up? I don't think I'd really be able to buy it right now anyway, I'm broke at the moment.

Well, my MXR's actually quite rare. It's one of the Commande series. I do know that the MXR in production at the moment does jet stuff very nicely. Just listen to Eddie Van Halen, that's pretty much it. I don't know too much about the Boss Flangers, but I do know that the vintage ones were quite good.

I'm going to end up getting the Silverback for my SG.

There are a ton of things to customizing it though, on the site.

Shellac/wax potting? Help!

Thanks.

Haha. I'm tellin' ya man, those Silverbacks are sexy. While unpotted pickups are essential to the real PAF tone, I recommend either getting wax or shellac. Which one? Well, it depends. I prefer shellac, it sounds much more airy and dynamic - the pickup is really alive. However, if you use a lot of gain, wax potting is a better idea.
Go with 4 conductor wire. Never know when you might wanna do a series/parallel switch or coil split.
Give CorduroyEW a PM, tell him as much as you can about "that tone" in your head. He'll be able to figure out exactly what you need.

yup, all of the outlets can power normal 9v pedals when the coresponding switches are in the down (normal) position.

haha, i went to that show to see winds of plague, just after i turned 15. not really into as blood runs black, just a coincidence that a cool picture turned out.

Cool! Ok, when putting the switch to the up position, it makes it 12v? Also, how do the custom cables work? The website said you use/mix two outputs to create either 18v or 24v.

Thanks man,

-JJ

yeah, the first 4 slots (from left to right) can be switched to 12V by pushing the switch up. the next two stay at 9v when you flick the switch, but run a higher current (250mA). those two are used for line6 modellers (like the DL4), or boss twin pedals (like the DD-20).

for the custom cables, you actually have to order them from the voodoo labs website. i'm not sure whether or not local shops would carry them, but it's definitely worth asking. they may even be able to order them in for you.

you can check out all their cables here: http://www.voodoolab.com/cables.htm

That's cool man! I was doing some research and there is a Cosmichorus video clip on youtube. You should look it up!

Yeah I had a quick look, but the guy who recorded it needs a better mic drastically, i could tell his sound was good and the mic wasn't doing it justice.

By the way, you have an amazing pedal set up and rig man!

How's the frequency analyzer working out for you?

Thanks mate, appreciate it.
The Frequency Analyzer is a great ring modulator, and I use it quite often. It's pretty unique sounding but it's really simple to use considering it only has 3 knobs and basically the art of using it is learning how to make those knobs interact with each other. Plus, it's really versatile, it can go from subtle and robotic to crazy and atonal. I use it in my songs Recombinant Transfer (in the verses and the experimental effects bits at the beginning and middle) and in the intro for New Age., if want to get an indication soundwise, and I could do a soundclip for you if you want.

No problem! and thank you. You will not regret buying it. ANY kind of sound will come out of this pedal. Subtle, deep, lush, bright, dark, vintage, and modern. The thing I like the most is that it is a ton of features, but at the same time not too many. You get me?

Yeah I perfectly understand you, it sounds perfect for me, I'll have to put it on my GAS list.

In my personal opinion analog sounds way better to me than digital, but it's all preference! This pedal is amazing. It has three switches, each of them that interact with the other three knobs. It can get really really crazy. It almost sounds like laser blaster star wars guns at one point. Very versatile pedal. I highly recommend it for the money.

Dude that sounds like my kind of thing. I gather that it's quite unique for a chorus pedal, so does that mean it would sound different to something like the Small Stone, because I really like subtle chorus with potential for craziness. Anyways, thanks for the reply. I really like your taste in gear by the way. Nice. I'll consider buying this now.

I see you have a Dr Scientist Cosmichorus, and I was thinking of getting one. I've heard it's quite different from regular chorus pedals (I hate analog chorus) but I think the sound of this one is great. Would you be able to tell me about it/post some sound samples. And nice taste in Oranges.

One question, when did Orange start putting Chinese Celestions in the cabs?

Thanks!

well im not aure, im not too up to date on the whole far east celestion debate. are they all being made over there? i mena, of course its a price thing, but is there really a difference between a chinese V30 and a normal one? the quality control over in the east these days is really really good. companies like celestion know they have a rep to portect, and make sure through different means that there really is no discernable difference in the new products. or so i hear.
