About slash_rocks2005
I've been playing guitar since freshman year in highschool, so right now it's at the 5 year mark i'd say. First couple years were rough w/ no lessons or help other than reading tabs and having a strong determination to learn, but i still sounded pretty lame lol. Then after a couple years i met a friend (Chip) through another friend at church, and this guy could play with some soul! The only person to really give me any kind of real teachings on the guitar. I didn't get to learn as much as i wanted to from him, but if he didn't show me what he did in what little time he was around in town, i'd prolly still be stuck in a rut. So thanks Chip!! After getting the new insight on guitar i combined that with relentless research on UG and eventually was able to teach myself more efficiently. And that pretty much leads up to right about now, where i'm just someone who loves to jam with other people, learn what i can from them when i can, and pursue my own tone and style. I'm nothing extraordinary, but i'm not your everyday tab-reading-only guitar 'player' anymore...i consider myself a real musician who is in his very early days of learning.

I go to church every Sunday, play lead guitar in the worship band. Band practice usually three times a week. So yea, i'm up at the church a few times a week. I'm Christian. I have a lot of flaws and slip up occasionally (usually w/ language) but always work on being a better person and spreading the word of God when it is appropriate. I'm not on UG to try and save souls but if it seems like someone needs to have a little light shed on them, i'll prolly do something like that.

I have finished my first year of college and am transferring to East Carolina University to major in Construction Management. I really like school, surprise surprise, and am gonna miss it when i graduate, so i'm trying to enjoy it while i still can haha. Really i'm not a hard person to get along with, i have bad and good days and can have an attitude every once in a while, but i'm human. And they call me Sharpie.
