Ok, I want to get this whole emo-thing straight

-Emo is not a genre, emo is a style of dressing/appearance

-Every music has emotion in it, otherwise its not music

-Emos/Scene Kids are just loners who dress weird to get attention.

Last time I checked 'Emo' was short for 'Emotional Hardcore', which shockingly happens to be a genre, no matter how lost it may have become in the translation of time.
But I understand what you're trying to say, nowadays it has nothing to do with the genre.
