in addition to the upper comment i have found that you can accomplish a pinch harmonic by lightly resting your pinky on the string slightly in front of the neck pickup but its not exactly easy to hit every time so practice makes perfect!

You can do pinch harmonics just about the same way on a bass as a guitar. If your using a pick, everything is exactly the same. But if your using your fingers, growing out your nails and doing an "upstroke" with your fingers will do it. Another thing you could do is do tapping harmonics which gives it a more percussive sound which sounds great usually.
