No, I was using a vintage TS-808 as a boost. I scooped the mids a bit (Metallica has scooped mids and the amp is naturally middy and the TS is middy as well) and maxed the gain and pushed the boost button.

I know adam uses those diezel amps, but when trying it out at birmingham, the guy set it up for me and i asked him for something tool - esque and it sounded lame...
