As I look down upon my ever expanding waist line and watching more hairs show the courage to appear in places I find inappropriate, I think back on the times when life wasn't based around these almighty goals that we must disipline ourselves for.
I'm talking about the days when we were happy to wake up at 6 AM, so we could eat our breakfast while watching some of the most entertaining television shows ever created. The likes of 'The Secret World of Alex Mack', 'Aaahh!!! Real Monsters', 'Bump in the Night' and 'Street Sharks'.
We'd gather our materials and trudge to school, miserable of course, but our day has just begun. We sing, dance, play, draw and write stories...all in a day's work.
We eat soggy, pressed peanut butter sandwiches, yet we don't stop to continue releasing the infinte energy and imagination we have.
Life was simplier, it was pleasent. We need not worry about economy and finance, occupations, health and diseases...we improvised every step we took, never looking back or forward.
It puts a smile on my face thinking of this time, this state of mind in which we learn the teachings of life but yet we don't have a care in the world, why should we? We were kids.
If you see your life spiraling or you have paperwork up to your testicles, take some time to put on the Pokemon Movie soundtrack, recline and remember the days when life was nothing but a game.
