Favorite bands :
Slayer, old metallica, Death, Amorphis (older stuff, but dig the new stuff too). Anything which is bone crushingly heavy but with touches of melody. Other stuff, like Rob Zombie (world's most twistedly creative person, I totally dig his two films too), Ministry.
Favorite guitarists :
King, Hanneman, Michael Romeo, Chuck Schuldiner, Paul Gilbert, Ritchie Blackmore. And the true father of all this fast technical playing, Nicolo Paginini.
Favorite books :
The Dead Zone, Stephen King. Firestarter, Stephen King
Favorite tv :
I dont watch much tv - I play guitar instead. One exception - Fringe!
Favorite movies :
Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects", and "House of a Thousand Corpses". The Butterfly Effect. An early Wes Craven film called "Deadly Friend". All the Saw Movies, the Hostel Movies, Alien (of course!), Aliens, The Eye, Crank and Crank 2 especially (anything with Amy Smart in it automatically rocks...I wonder why ;)) , the 2009 version of Last House on The Left. A movie I saw recently called "Devil Girl" which is totally trippy. Also I recently watched Death Race and Death Race 2 and totally digged them. The Underworld also totally rocked.
I got my first guitar and started learning to play at the age of 21. 6 months before I had a super vivid dream in which I was playing Metallica's Master of Puppets. It was so vivid I could hear and feel every single note. I woke up and was hooked even though I hadn't even started playing yet. I stuck at it, and almost 19 years later, my love affair with this instrument continues!
Here's a vid from a few years ago of me tackling the last two solo's of slayer's hallowed point. The sound and video quality is pretty crappy, and I've got a nicer camera (and guitar for that matter) since then. I will try to put something more representative of where I'm at now up soon.
