I live in MI and play a Les Paul (better than Fender) for a local band with my best friend Ethan on bass and vocals (John Cooper style) and our friend Casey on drums. We are still in the rhythm guitarist hunt but we have two possible ones we are considering, both of which also play synth also. I really got into music in elementary school because I go to a school that emphasizes the fine arts, so I learned how to read music, figure out keys, play by ear, and such. Several years ago I saw the music video for the Steven Curtis Chapman song "The Walk", where he's sitting singing on a barstool, and I was thinking "Dang man, I want to be that guy!" so I borrowed a guitar from a friend and learned some basics until I got an acoustic Austin guitar. After that I became an Epiphone fan after playing a friends Epiphone Les Paul Studio, and after I found out they were a Gibson branch. I saved up and bought an Epiphone Les Paul Special II on musiciansfriend.com and very recently started a band with my best friend who plays a Peavey bass.
