I haven't had a lot of reading time lately because of school, but we read Grendel (published in the 1970s, it's an author's interpretation of Beowulf from Grendel's perspective) in English and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to. It was mostly a philosophical outtake on it, which was kind of cool, considering how one-dimensional Beowulf is.
would you recommend beowulf?

i have no idea what it's about, only that it's a 'classic' and very old, heh..
