About retiredpilot
I am a 66 year old retired airline pilot, and now that I am paying for my own flight time I don't fly as much, and so have time to devote to some of my other interests such as playing the guitar. I grew up during the British Invasion, and that is still my favorite genre. I am trying to learn all of my favorite songs, which include some lesser known ones, by all the well known bands, such as The Beatles, the Dave Clark 5, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the Searchers, plus those of some of the lesser known artists, such as the Four Just Men and the Dennisons. I have gotten much useful information from the tabs on UG, and am now trying to pick out the remaining songs on my list by myself. I plan to post these as I finish them, but as I am a self taught guitarist I can't read music and will be doing this strictly by ear. Because of this my posts will contain mostly standard major and minor chords and some 7ths, as my ear can't distinguish subtle tonal changes, so don't look for any 6ths or 9ths just yet. I will undoubtedly be making mistakes, so I welcome all input from the many professional musicians that use this site, as well as such prolific tabbers as Pencom and KK. I have a large undertaking to complete, and I will need all the help I can get! Please be patient with the newbie. I look forward to making new friends and learning more about music. Please feel free to contact me with and constructive comments or criticism you may have.
