Toilets wrote on Apr 30th, 2009 9:09pmStreet Sweeper / Street Sweeper Social Club are a two piece band including Tom Morello, with a two word name beginning with S. So that kinda fits the description in your thread. Don't know about the Abe Lincoln logo, though. quote |
hmendez86 wrote on Nov 13th, 2008 3:47amHey dude
Thanks for taking the time to critique my music, I appreciate the honesty. I listened to your music and must admit I'm a bit out of my element with the genre, but I can tell you what I thought just from a musical sense. I dug the singer for the most part, he varied the type of singing he was doing (spoken word, some falsettos, screaming), but he needs to work a bit on his singing at slower tempos. Still though, pretty solid. Loved the bass tone and he didn't overplay, which is really good for the style. The drummer was ok, nothing too exciting, but everything he did sounded good when we're talking about the songs as a whole. The guitars were cool, very driving, some cools riffs and some cool lead work.
As a whole, I dug the songs. Cool dynamics; my favorites were "Never Feel," "Down," and "Hollow." I must admit that a lot of that decision was because of the singing. I thought some of his melodies sometimes got a bit generic in the other songs.
Once again, thanks for the critique

It's getting cold, we just missed snow the other day by just a few degrees... It snowed a few miles west. No, I'm not in a band, but I was in high school. Metallica covers mostly. We were terrible, but it was fun. :

wadester wrote on Oct 24th, 2008 11:54pmHey there. Sorry it took me so long to comment on your music. I've been working on my own and I haven't really had the time.
I really enjoyed the music. The guitars sound wicked and the bass is pumpin pretty hard. I'm not too hip on the singing though. Not that it's bad, it's just not my style. But for the style of music I would says it's pretty good.
My favorite song is "Down". Some good stuff there!!

wadester wrote on Oct 21st, 2008 4:19amHey, thanks alot for the comments. I agree that my bass playing is very simple. But with that said, I'm not a bass player at all. I pretty much just add bass to complete the songs. One of these days I'll either get better at it, or I'll find someone else to play bass.
Thanks again.

frottage wrote on Sep 27th, 2008 5:50amNope, but my friend asked me today if I want to go there in a couple weeks on a Monday when they're doing some tour thing or something, so I think I might go.
Right now, I'm still planning on YSU, but yeah. The main reason is that it's cheap, and there's a Taco Bell on campus. It's also just like fifteen minutes away, so yeah. quote |

What's OU like, by the way? I'm probably going to go to YSU next year, but you never know. quote |
