Cool, I like Jeff Beck and I'm a leftist Libertarian. Can I practice Japanese with you?

JacobTheMe wrote on Jul 25th, 2009 7:14am

Nice. Blow By Blow is my favorite Beck album.

maybe because they are not born and raised here, so their upbringing is different.
i think i'd get insulted if someone would say that im not asian and im a pacific islander. i know that philippines is the most different country in asia because it has no old architectures and the culture is very much western, but to be said that we are pacific islander is too much! like we are being excluded in asia! philippines is located in southeast asia and a member of SEATO (Souheast Asia Treaty Organization), so therefore we are really asians.

hehe, sorry i have forgotten most if not all of the japanese ive learned.
what does chotto tsukarete imasu means? sounds familiar to me.

I live in like the heart of metropolitan Tokyo in Shinjyuku and have been living in the city for my entire life.

A question.
Do Filipinos like to be considered as Asian or Pacific-Islander?

Of course we are ASIAN haha :haha: You know what some Filipinos do really get offended when they are called Pacific Islander, 'cause we are part of Asia.
Although I must admit, we are not very Asians because of the culture and we have not got so much grand architecture like our neighboring countries. Cultures of the Pacific Islands and the Philippines are similar maybe because we are composed of thousands of islands.

You know what? I studied Nihonggo before, but due to lack of people to converse with, I have forgotten it, haha. Btw, ogenki desu ka?

I was born in the heartland of the Tokyo metropolis and I've lived there FOR EVER.
I've studied English all my life, that's all man.

Ah, I see. :)

We have a Japanese exchange student at my school, and her English is... not so good. I just heard it was pretty hard for Japanese people to pick up, but seeing as you've been studying the language all your life, I can see now. :)

'Leviathan' wrote on Jun 15th, 2009 1:53pm

Were you born/raised in Japan? If so, your English is amazing for a Japanese person.

Hey Mink,

Remember when I asked you about what Mr. Big album I should try?
Well you said Lean into it, and you're right, that albums is pretty solid.
I also got bump ahead and Mr. Big, and Bump Ahead was pretty good too, but Mr. Big was a bit disappointing.

Thanks anyways.
Ignore me if you don't give a damn lol

I can't say I'm a huge fan. They have some good ballads, but I get bored of them quickly.
