I was planning on applying to one particular school, to take Art & Music, but when I checked the entry requirements, it said I would need grade 8 in my first instrument, grade 5 in my second, and grade 8 theory. I have the first two, but the third- no chance.
Anyway, on the ucas forums, some stupid ho contacts me because we're both applying for music courses. Turns out she has a fucking place there, with just grade 5 on first and second. No theory, no practical musicianship, just two intermediate instrumental grades. All she needs to get in now is 200 ucas points.
What the fuck?
So yeah, to people who are applying next year- ring up the universities and don't look at what is says in the entry requirements, because someone might just take the place you could have had, and waste it on being shit.
i had a similar thing, my heart has been set for years on studying medecine, but i didn't work hard enough so didn't get the AS results that the teacher in charge of my schools UCAS said i needed in order to apply, so he didn't let me,
then i found out about people who have studied medecine with worse grades than i got at AS
it really annoyed me as it was too late to change!!
