Aaaw that sucks...i broke the input once as well and discovered that it's one of the most fragile places of a guitar, i've been very careful with it since then.
The volume was indeed back up again for the solo, but my concentration wavered for a moment you know...and that's the last thing you want to happen when your solo is around the corner xD
i'll keep my fingers crossed for a financial stroke of luck

And a job can be really convenient you know, especially if you stick around long enough for everyone there to get to know you. Usually makes it more enjoyable to work.

But we're auditioning with Hardest Button To Button by the White Stripes, although we play it way different than they do, mostly because we've got more than 2 people in the band. We've been playing it for over half a year now, so the tryouts should be easy as pie really

Haha, my day was rather shite to be honest...the highlight had to be when I tried to teach the pianist i'm working with one simple tune. He couldn't grasp it, and it took nearly two hours before he could play it but he's trained in classical music, so that might be the problem. The downside is that we have to audition tomorrow for open mic night at school...

there's also this university course where you study the impact of music on society and its origins and stuff, I though that sounded pretty interesting as well. At least it has something to do with music :]
