I am learning Norwegian because my ancestors were from Norway, and I wanted to have a better understanding of where they came from and the language they spoke.
Dimmu Borgir are very good to me, personally, but I enjoy many other black metal bands. I'm not surprised that you don't enjoy the style of music; you either like black metal or you don't. Your friend is one lucky fellow
