He is not the typical shredder though. If you were really in to him and have listened to all his stuff you would have a sompletely different opinion. He is an instumentalist. Just like any classical pianist. Albums like Acoustic shards, colma and electric tears are very different than what you would expect.
Songs like Jordan and Nottingham lace are just shred fests.

His super old stuff, with the deli creeps, are different too. He had a full band. They werent very serious, but their songs were more structured. He did play behind a band, then soloed for a minute. Bend Up has an amazing solo, but the rest of the song is just wierd.
