I've done a remix of a friend's song that is actually a cover... And I have his permission to do what I like with it but I wanna know if I can let people download it.
The reason I'm not entirely sure is because I know the original artist gets like a percentage of money made from covers or something (royalties), but if I'm allowing people to download it for free, would it be fine to do so and not have anything to worry about? I'm assuming that it'll be fine but i'd like to be 100% positive!
Think it's alright to upload a few MP3's to my profile that have no guitars in? lol, i got a few songs uploaded that i want people to hear that have no guitars in (and sound slightly electronic). They shouldn't get taken down for being considered inappropriate should they?
I asked my friend, who offered to help out my band, to record an additional guitar track and solo to one of my songs and told him the tuning i recorded it in was C-F-A*-D*-G-C...
Anyway he recorded it, and it's pretty good (solo wasn't where i initially wanted it though) but he was a bit of a smart arse and used his 7 string guitar and a capo. does anyone think this is cheating? i think it kind of is because the 7th string enables him to play notes higher than i can reach on my guitar and i get the feeling that he's showing off! basically, i'm limited to 6 strings and he's not...
I think not playing with the same limits as me is a bit of an insult to be honest, and get the feeling that he just can't be bothered to drop the tuning of 1 of his guitars to match mine.
Why is it that drummers are so hard to find? i wanted to have my band up and running with rehearsals by now, but i don't have a drummer! does everybody find this to be the biggest problem when forming a band?
I'm working on a band at the moment, recording demos, but my amp sounds crap! Now, it's my 21st birthday in june so i'm thinking about treating myself to a new amp, and am think about getting some kind of head and cabinet but my friend is questioning my motives saying that stacks are pointless because they'll go no further that 1.5 on the master volume.
What do you reckon? i mean, if ii have a half stack, it'll be adequate enough for any indoor venue when/if i take my band live? plus it looks cool! lol, any one got any opinions? maybe some pros and cons to help me with my decision between a half stack and a combo amp?
