Mr_Jubby_Jubs wrote on Aug 19th, 2007 7:09pmWell I can't entirely vouch for the gibsons but mines not bad. Lot's of deep tone, hard to get anything else though. Neck dive can be a pain until you get used to it. It's also a little uncomfortable fingerpicking while standing unless it's quite low down. Can't really speak much for the tone though since my only amp is 30 watt behringer. It's solid too. Barely a scratch after eight months, and I dont look after it too well. quote |
Guitar God Rob wrote on Aug 18th, 2007 7:44pmerr well for my hair basically i straighten it a bit (my hairs really curly), then i just put lots of strong hairspray on and it seems to just do whatever i want it to. quote |
flyingmarlin wrote on Aug 18th, 2007 11:28amWell, on the EDB models they are ergonomically designed with slapping in mind, there is a cut out below the D and G string to aid popping, For my this comes in hand becase i have big-ish hands.
I would recomend the model with the ibanez/duncan jazz pickups, i think at times the regular soap bar pickups can lack a little, but thats my only real problem with the EDB i own, but overall its a great bass, i would give it 9/10 as my personal review.
Only one problem i ever needed to buy a new part for was the jack socket, the ibanez one has a habit of breaking easily, no problem for my because im quite handy with a soldering iron, but eventually i bought a new stereo jack for about ?2, and its worth it.

Bumper wrote on Aug 17th, 2007 7:31pmHa, no man, it's just a six string. I bought it used at a guitar store about a year ago fro $300. It served me well in it's time in duty. quote |
flyingmarlin wrote on Aug 17th, 2007 12:20pmHey, i saw you're interested in an EDB-400, I love mine and as dinkydaisy mentioned, the neck does warp at times, but only when you change gauges. You should look at the higher level EDB's like the 700, its the same as the 400, but has the EQ built on to it.

Dinkydaisy wrote on Aug 17th, 2007 12:01pmYeah, it's nice. Though mine's given me some trouble, the D string is way louder than the rest of them, even though the pickups seem good, and the neck has a habit of warping. But it plays nice, light and easy to hold. quote |
