Old Bands, New Material/New bands, Same Material

Metallica coming out with a new album.  AC/DC coming out with a new album.  It seems like alot of UG's everywhere like the idea of these old bands who want to release new material.  Not that im against the artist's right of releasing music, but when bands like metallica are planning on releasing an album that sounds just like their old stuff, I think "well then why bother?"  It seems just like a marketing scheme just to get more money from what they know already sells.  I don't really lke this trend of not taking risks in music and that goes for newer bands too.  All of this emo, scremo, metalcore, deathcore, punk-pop, etc. we have today is just starting to sound the same to me and it just follows a very overused formula of song structure.  I hear bands like angels and airwaves or fall out boy and cant tell the difference; it just makes me wonder why there arent more artists like beck, or radiohead, or even the mars volta.  At least they try to mix things up a bit between albums.  Ok, i dont feel like bitching about this subject anymore. I want to hear some opinions.
