Favorite bands :
Dinosaur Jr, Pearl Jam, Swervedriver, Sonic Youth, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Verve, Oasis, Alice In Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers... mainly. Basically mostly grunge, indie/alternative, blues-rock, and stuff, though overall I seem to have a soft spot for 90s grunge/alternative bands :]
Favorite guitarists :
J Mascis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Billy Corgan, Kurt Cobain, Thurston Moore, Slash, Graham Coxon
Favorite books :
Not much of a reader in particular, heh. Stevie Ray Vaughan's biography is quite an interesting read also, as is Slash's. Actually, most of my books are music artist related, looking at my bookshelf. 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' I really like, too, a really cool insight into various underground bands prior to '91's grunge explosion. That kind of stuff :]
Favorite tv :
Top Gear, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mythbusters, QI.. most stuff on Dave, actually, hah.
Favorite movies :
Anchorman's a goldmine for funny lines. Generally though I'm not really massively into films, but not really a fan of most films that usually get hyped like crazy - all the thousands of recent superhero-related movies, for example. Just not really my thing. Saw Django Unchained recently and quite liked that.
I've been playing guitar for about... ten? years now and can't see myself giving up anytime soon. hooray. I dabble on bass now and then, and sometimes drums, but not particularly well.
I went through a massive Dinosaur Jr obsession phase and tabbed a bunch of their songs (though I probably know how to play at least half of all of them... oh dear).
Been recording a bunch of my own (guitar-only) stuff lately, but trying to combine those ideas into something resembling songs mostly, which isn't going as well, heh. Maybe I should get off my ass and actually learn some theory.
