Favorite bands :
The Band of Gypsies, Led Zeppelin, U2, King's X, Extreme, Miles Davis' band for "Bitch's Brew," Santana, The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, Moby, Robert Rich
Favorite guitarists :
Joe Satriani, SRV, Andy Timmons, Jimi Hendrix, Neal Schon, Dave "The Edge" Evans, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, John Scofield
Favorite books :
Lord Of The Rings by Tolkien, The Dark Tower series (and other associated works) by Stephen King, all of Joseph Campbell's work especially the one with Bill Moyers. I'm an avid reader but don't run across a lot of stuff that really stays with me - I should probably try to spend more time in the non-fiction section of the bookstore.
Favorite tv :
The "reimagined" Battlestar Galactica by Ron Moore and David Eick is the only reason I have cable. But Joss Whedon's shows "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Angel," and "Firefly" were/are incredible - TV on DVD is the way to go.
Favorite movies :
All of Michael Mann's movies, all of M. Night Shyamalan's movies, all of Christopher Nolan's movies, LOTR, Serenity, High Noon, and Shane
I'm a wanna-be; a relic of an age long past, the 80's guitar hero. Having forsaken my dreams of rock stardom in exchange for the security of middle class obsurity, I now play soley for my own enjoyment. My "day job" isn't conducive to gigging and I'm not hungry the way I was before I got old. I've made my peace with it. My brother and I do have a virtual project going - a band that exists soley on the internet, but the songs are a hoot. Otherwise, I continue my quest to learn "Little Wing."
