Where were you when you heard about the attacks on our country 7 years ago? I was driving to work when I heard the first report of a plane colliding with one of the towers. I thought it was an accident , nothing more than a tragic accident . When I got to work ,some 25 minutes later, I got a phone call from a friend who frantically pleaded with me to turn on the T.V. to see what was going on. When I got the television on the second plane was moments from impact. Needless to say , that is a moment I'll never forget for as long as I live. I'm bringing this up here on Ultimate guitar because , I would like to propose a challenge for any of us out here on Ultimate guitar to come up with a song about how the events of 9/11/01 effected us. There are a couple  of great country songs that were written about it . They pretty much tell the collective story of the way it effected the country . So , try to make it more personal. More about your unique experience on that awful day .

Have you forgotten by Daryl Worley was a great 9/11 song. I'm begining to think that we have forgotten. I hope it doesn't happen again as a result of us repeating our past mistakes.

I think we have been very arrogant as a nation and would hope that we'd use better judgement in assessing the very real problems that the current political world we live in presents. I can remember thinking that no one would mess with us because we were too powerful and we'd wipe up anyone who would dare mess with us. Pretty stupid outlook to have carried around but, I think it was a very common one. At least in my area at the time. I have since found myself questioning the attitude of excersing dominance to acheive peace. I don't have alot of faith in negotiating to acheave peace either so I guess it's a good thing that I don't have to make the hard decisions that we're currently faced with.
