I've always wanted to write down my ideas so sure why not UG. Hell they probably won't get looked at anyway.
I was thinking about the whole love thing. Why do kids in like jr. high and high school even try dating. I can't see an outcome that's likely enough to make it worth the effort. I see people date all the time (including me) and it always ends the same. The chances of finding someone that you are actually going to stay with seem small. I'm not saying it's not possible, but i see 7th graders dating guys and wearing engagement rings and just dumb things like that. Do they think that he is honestly going to want her after the 5-6 years it takes to be able to actually marry? I'm pretty sure he just wants the same thing I and every other guy wants at that age, and it's definately not marriage. I really hate when I have to see girls crying because their relationship ended. I see cuts on some wrists and i see plenty of other things that are just pathetic for kids at this age. I think as teenagers we think that things are the same as they are when we are graduated and such. The fact is it's not. I try to think of all relationships as temporary for now. Sometimes i hope it'll be more but it never is (suprising huh?). I'm not sure how important these relationships are when we actually do graduate and we go on dates with potential mates. I haven't made it that far yet. Maybe the bad gradeschool experiences make everyone very cautious in later ones. Maybe everyone goes through this stage of realization before they get serious lol. The main reason i wrote this is because there was this girl i knew. She's really smart, could have went to college, gotten a job, had a nice comfortable life. But she dated this, well, loser. I say loser because he doesn't even try in school, and wants to just graduate and go work in the oil feild. This loser got her pregnant and because of this she never even bothered applying for college. So basiclly i'm guessing she'll be a stay at home mom while her future husband (who knows how long that will last) brings home a mediocre salary. The same kind of scenario seems to happen alot around here, all because we think everyone we fall in love with is out "true love". I guess ill end my rant here. To anyone reading this, especially young girls from my school, don't take love too seriously lol.
Sorry for randomly dropping in, but I wandered into your profile by accident and saw this.
I understand completely what you are saying, however things sometimes do work out for people. I am now engaged to a girl that I started dating in the 7th grade, and we will be married as soon as we graduate college. We went through middle school together, high school together, and now college together, and I couldn't be happier.
Guess I just got lucky. Most people won't end up in my position, but don't think it's impossible .
