I'm pretty fond of 1970's fusion acts like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, as well as the many players that have made their mark with Miles like John McLaughlin and David Liebman.
I also like a few modern prog artists - Dream Theater, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Meshuggah. As well as most projects that involve John Petrucci, Mikael Akerfeldt and Steven Wilson.

Pans Labyrinth, The Shawshank Redemption and Donnie Darko are my three favourites. I also really like the Bourne, LOTR, Matrix and Star Wars series.
Hi, I'm Sam. I can't be bothered putting too much up here... I'm a sax player, but can play guitar to a reasonable standard I guess. I've earned myself the nickname "that sax guy" among the younger people in my school which is pretty funny If you want, add my music myspace.
So yeah sax is my main instrument, I play alto and soprano (I like the high sound). About a year ago, I aquired an effects pedal and microphone set-up of my own design so I can use effects on my sax, which sounds pretty awesome in my opinion. This year I found out Miles Davis was already doing it in the 70's... gaah.
I write music quite a lot, and recently won a competition with a $300 prize with a composition. I've also set up a bit of a home studio, which I use regularly, and I recorded eight tracks last year and put them out on a demo CD.
