I got my hair cut yesterday. For all of you who have never seen a picture of me, it was pretty long. Not anymore. I got it cut really short. You can see my ears and my forehead. It's about as long as Josh Homme's hair and I style it like his hair too. Anywho, just thought I'd let you all know. I would put up a picture but every time I try to put up a picture, I can't resize the picture to fit the site. Oh well.
I'm so glad the writers strike is over. Hopefully it was worth it for them. If you didn't know the whole reasons behind it, there were a few.
1.The writers were mad that they weren't get paid very much for reruns and DVD's. The writers got nothing off of the DVD's.
Actually, I think that was it. I could've swore that there were more reasons. Anyway, the companies are working out new contracts and all of the legal things so it'll work out.

wow, it's been a long time. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! hope you all had a verry merry christmas(that is if you celebrate it, if not, happy chanukah or kwanza or something else). This year I got an 80 gig iPod classic(silver) got back into a whole shit load of music because I can fit it on my iPod. I downloaded some TV shows(Scrubs, Drawn Together, South Park, Aliens In America, Kyle XY, How I Met Your Mother) Aliens, Kyle XY and How I Met Your Mother were free so I got them. I downloaded some podcasts(a few episodes of Talking Metal and the Smashing Pumpkins video ones). anyway, the other things I got for Xmas are a Guitar White Pages book, Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity(the one with Achmed), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a pocket knife, a $15 iTunes card which I bought Soundgarden's Down on The Upside and two Drawn Together episodes and a South Park episode, Guitar Hero 3, and I think that's it. I then bought myself ACID Music Studio recording software which won't work for some reason. I think it's either my computer or my RP150. I'm hopefully going to have my computer wiz neighbor look at it tomorrow. I downloaded Smashing Pumpkins-Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness off of Amazon.com. It worked great. It downloaded right to iTunes and Windows Media Player with the picture and names and everything. It was awesome. anyway, I think that's it for now.
wow I haven't written in forever. on October 29th, i ditched my last two class periods. my friends who were with me, told me that the school wouldn't call unless i ditched like 5 more times. they called at around 6:30 that night. my dad was pissed but my mom fuckin exploded on me. i dont really remember all that she said but it was bad. she took my guitar away for the week. i read 3 books that week. i also got really into my serj tankian cd that i had just bought. anywho, i broke two pairs of drumsticks this week. one pair at school and the other pair on my set two days later. i hit way too hard. it's probably cuz i'm always angry. anyway, i purchased Queens of The Stone Age's Lullabies To Paralyze. i really like Everyone Knows That You Are Insane. The saturday before the day I ditched, I had this "recital" type thing at my towns Guitar's Etc. I kicked ass with my own original song that i actually don't have written down, surprisingly. i'm kind of sick of it now and i've already written two or three more songs. one of them i wrote most of last night at like midnight. It's kind of light, based of a part of a Coheed and Cambria thing I saw in the latest Guitar World magazine. It's fingerpicked, which is something I'm not very good at but i can do it for this new song. I've noticed that a lot of my songs sound like instrumentals. this could be because I don't have lyrics for them yet but they just kind of have that vibe goin on. anyWHO, i was looking at this awesome Fender Strat custom, it looked like, at Guitars Etc. It has a black body and neck, brown/black sparkly pickguard, humbucker bridge pickup. i was gonna buy it when i had the money but it already got sold. i'm so pissed about that. now, i'm looking at the Ibanez's, one of which is only $230. it kind of looks like an SG but different. it doesn't have whammy bar capability and i want a guitar with a whammy. i'm kind of looking at the Fender looking ones because they have whammy's but there's this other one that's pretty much the same as the first Ibanez i mentioned but cherry red with a black pickguard. i have no idea if it's whammy capable but i think i'll get that one. anywho, that's all i can really say for right now.
so, i got the set. it's not the best one in the world but it'll do........................for now. it's a PDP and it was the cheapest one they had. it came with the basic set(snare, bass, floor tom, tom-tom's, hi-hat, crash/ride cymbals)and that was it. it was kind of a bitch to put together but totally worth it. my sticks are kind of beat up now(more than before)and they're like splintering near the tip from the hi-hat but sticks are relatively cheap(10 bucks). anywho, while there at guitars etc. i spotted a few Fender guitars that were pretty cool. they're not amazingly expensive($300-500) and i saw this cool black strat that was 400 dollars, i think. i might save up my money and get one of those puppies. or just get one of these awesome grayish new epiphone's with an awesome symbol near the tuning knobs that i've been drawing on my binders and stuff. they're pretty cool but i didn't look and see how much they were. oh well, i guess i'll look on wednesday when i have my guitar lesson. so, i was looking at the Screaming Trees on iTunes and found Ocean of Confusion:Screaming Trees 1990-1996, they're greatest hits cd. i listened to the previews and it was really good. i'm probably going to buy that. anyway, just wanted to say what was on my mind. c yallzz l8r
tomorrow, i'm getting a drumset. i'm so excited i don't think i can sleep, lol. the only problem is, i'm probably going to need to get a job or something so i can pay for drum and guitar gear. so I hung out with matt yesterday. helped him with The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret by Queens of The Stone Age. awesome song, awesome band. i cut my finger under the nail playing that solo. it still hurts(i cut it saturday). anyway, arron was there(he is matt's bro) and matt and i were trying to make a cool setting(which went very well with my prog-rock type stuff) with a wah(he recently bought a wah pedal) and tremol on my RP-150, arron kept saying stuff like 'play some REAL stuff' and shiz like that. he also thinks we should kick mike out of the band and find some one better. i was about to knock his fucking block off, rock em sock em robots style. mike is one of the best drummers i know. for arron, it's either his way or the highway. he's spoiled like no other and he's a brat. i wanna kill him. i seriously do. he wants to play a new song every 2 seconds. speaking of which, i figured out that the band(excluding me) is in a phase where they hear a cool song and they immediately want to learn it. that's fine but they learn like the intro and part of the verse or something and then they move on. i remember doing that and i hate myself for ever leaving so many songs unfinished, left behind my music books(which also go untouched). now, i'm more into writing my own stuff which is something those guys are kind of afraid of or something because whenever i mention writing our own song they go "no, we should learn a bunch of pro songs so we can play them in concert" IF we ever get a gig, and they're not PRO songs. they're called covers. almost every song they've ever wanted to learn is done by a new, pop-punk band that is anything BUT pro. i'm so pissed at these guys. they don't know jack. ANYWHO, on a happier note, my friend jake from band class(and from my middle school) is in a punk band and is looking for a drummer. he's been kind of shuffling drummers in the past month and we've talked about the latest one each time he's gotten a new one and he asked MOI to join his band. here's the kicker, I DON'T HAVE A DRUMSET. i'm UBER pissed about that. so, i asked my mom today on the way to my guitar lesson if her and my dad would help pay for a set. i have roughly 75 bucks. i'd like a relatively good set(i'm not asking for decked out Pearl) but my dad doesn't think i'll ever play it. how could i not play it. i don't ever get a chance to practice for band(by the way i'm, you guessed it, a drummer in band. i'm also first chair, to let you know.) so i need one for that. also, if my current band ever wanted to come over to my house(we're always at mike's house) they could, no problem. i don't know, my mom's gonna talk to my dad about it. on a different note, i'm going to download Queens of The Stone Age's R cd for my October Wallmart download(my parents let me have a CD download a month from Wallmart. i always use it) and i'm probably going to get Lullabies To Paralyze by the same band with the iTunes card mi madre bought me a while ago. it's gonna be awesome.

this tuesday, the band practiced. this time Arron(ex-bassist of 4 times) shows up and says he's back in the band. Mike and Matt(I wasn't there yet) try to get him to leave but he won't so we roll with it. We get to our practice space(Mike's basement) and set up. While we're doing this, Arron tells Mike to move his drumset into the corner, pushing me into the smallest possible space. Arron and I had gotten into a fight about kicking Mike out on Sunday(I think. It might have been Saturday). Anyway, Arron has just about all of the space in our tiny practice space. Then he turns his amp around so it's facing him. I have no idea why he did this but it sounded like crap. We start tuning and playing whatever for a few minutes(We always do this. Don't know why. Nothing ever comes from it)and we decide we're going to try Dammit by blink-182 again. We had tried this the day we kicked Arron out the second time and it didn't go very well. So we try it after Arron learns his part(Which is so amazingly easy. It took him FOREVER to learn it) and we do pretty good until pretty close to the bridge where I drop my pick. I keep playing because we're only in the chorus. We get to the bridge and it falls apart because I mess up a little. Now, I pretty much keep the band on the beat and in the tempo we're playing so when I mess up, we're done. We're completely SCREWED. Now, I'm not being egotistical but it's just true. It makes me and. I can't stand it. Anyway, we run it again but we have to stop at abut the same part for some reason I don't remember. It was probably because Arron messed or maybe Matt. I don't know. After a completely unproductive practice, Matt and Arron leave. I'm stuck hanging out at Mike's house for a while because my mom's picking me up at 8 ish. I don't mind but it's better when Matt's there just cuz he's cool. Mike shows me this amazing vid of a drummer. I can't explain how this video was. You'd have to see the video for yourself. His name is derek something and I think it was on the 12th or 13th page on youtube. Mike eats some chili and we sit down with his mom(who is really cool and seems to like me) and watch a bit of Sweet Home Alabama. My mom comes to get me at 8:15(On the dot) and i go home and do my homework with my sister's help until 10 because I didn't get it and she didn't explain it very good. I was also still burning about Arron showing up to the practice and saying he was in the band. Anyway, tuesday was one of the worst days of my life(for reasons I will not explain). I will say that I was ready to blow my brains out, though. I had the gun in my hand and everything. I won't explain more. Anyway, that's about it. don't ask what happened tuesday because I won't answer. I'm over it now(not really) and I'm done with that. C U L8RZZZ
well, tuesday when the band last practiced(again, without a bass player) i showed my lyrics to mike and matt. matt didn't really say anything but mike said "well, that's kinda emo" does no one know what 'emo' actually is anymore? modern emo is about getting dumped and suicides that will never happen. they branch out a little but that's about it. my song isn't about a lost girlfriend. i don't even know what it's about. i'll post it in a new blog later(meaning tomorrow if i remember). anywho, when(meaning if) i post the lyrics, i'm going to need some feedback on it just to see what you comatose readers think it means. it can mean anything you want it to. hell, it could mean puppies and rainbows to you, if that's how you see it. but comments/feedback would be MUCHO appreciated(like the spanglish i threw in there). back to tuesday(FLASHBACK!) mike's neighbor(and friend) from across the street came over unexpected with a new haircut which makes him look even uglier and weird looking than before(he has an odd shaped head) somehow we got to my lyrics. mike said, "matt's stuff is all pop-punky and alec's(me)songs are all metal and emo" that pisses me off beyond no extent. the completed song i have has a speed metal verse. that's it. but i guess that's what people notice when they hear it. i could change it, but i won't. just to piss those guys off. people have selective hearing. they hear what sounds bad(to them) or what they want to hear(the bad parts). i don't get people. why is everyone so goddamn mean and misunderstanding and ignorant and a lot of things. i'm not saying i'm perfect(nobody is) but why are people the way they are. why don't other people like the way people are? i'll tell you why. cuz ppl are jerks. just about everyone is. there are some exceptions(like who, i don't know) but the majority are jerks. i'm really considering quitting this band and letting it dissolve into nothingness. i think matt and mike would understand if i say, "you guys are into WAY different music than i am. i'm sorry but i need to quit this band because, frankly, you guys are holding me back. i've hidden stuff from you because it's too 'emo' although that's kinda what you guys are into." or something along those lines. sorry. just need to rant
