I was recently asked to record a split release with New York musician Les Vinyl. 5 songs each. It should pretty sweet.
I've recorded a new demo which I intend to re-record in studio for the release.
Have a listen and tell me what you think needs to change/be deleted? I have to fix up the ending so that it doesn't trail off so much, and also, figure out some of the singing parts. Yeah, this is the first song I've uploaded to UG that has vocals. weird huh?
Oh it's called "untitled #1" at the moment.
Okay then. I'll keep speaking when more things happen. in the meantime, go to www.myspace.com/lesvinyl and listen. His music is amazing. I cannot get enough of it.
there I was, writing some of the tastiest licks I've ever done before when *snap* broke my D string. The one I can't replace. So now I'm going to have to wait until Wednesday before I can finish writing said tasty licks...
1. Open a lesson on Ultimate Guitar. 2. Open Pro Tools, start new session. 3. Load Waves 'Guitar Tuner' plug-in. 4. Load Waves 'Stomp 6' Effects pedals plug-in. 5. Load Waves 'Amp' simulation plug-in. 6. Follow through the lesson a few times. 7. Marvel at improvement over last session. 8. Play with effects pedals for a few hours.
I've got these books from the 1980s that my father gave to me. I've only ever opened them to briefly look up some basic information. Guitar handbooks, I've had them since I first started playing power chords.
Well thanks to this website and it's articles, lessons, tabs and community, I've taken to reading these books, trying to learn more about my playing.
I feel I've learnt more about playing in this past week than ever before. I've found a new passion and can't help but practice every day.
So here's to the rebirth of my love of guitar, circa 2007.
