I think it's time for me to go...

Current mood: annoyed

God, this is so stupid. Okay so you know how Obama won the presidency last night? Well that's nice and all. I am really happy, but at the same time I am seriously angered by the attitude of those around me. For those of you who don't know, I am or amaican, Irish, and Indian decent, and a big issue for people like me is immigration. I was born here, my mother was naturalized in 2000 and my father, I believe has a greencard. I any event, my mother's friend Kimone starts milking this Obama presidency, saying she's proud to be American and what not. I'm like fine, whatever. Thenshe says "...blah,blah,blah...he's going to fix immigration and all of them are going to be able to come on...blah, blah.  I say, I hope the issues with immigrants are sorted before any decisions are made because most immigrants come here as criminals--murderers, rapist, drug dealers, whathaveyou.

I'm not saying Americans can't be these things too, but why would we want more? i believe that before an immigrant is allowed into this country at a certain age, they should already have their own skill and trade and be allowed here on Visa and follow standard protocol for immigration thus far. She then blows up on me, calling me selfish, mean because Idon't agree with everything she's saying. Needless to say, I don't care. My biggest concern isn't immigration, it is economy. Think about it: if the economy here isn't all that great, then bringing immigrants here would set this country up for a disaster on a scale much larger than that of the recent happenings on Wall Street and the big bail-out. Not only would citizens here be low on support for themselves and ther families, but immigrants would be in jeopardy as well--where would all there job opportunities come from? And even if they were to find them, would the pay they recieve be enough, especialy with inflation? Would they know how to cope with drastic changes in the economy that could adversely affect their being here? I understand that immigrants, too, are mostly educated, ambnitious and strong, but many of them come here without knowing the issues, and what's in front of them.

Let's put aside this "Land of Oportunity" CRAP and really check the facts. She says 90% of immigrants are hardworking and trustworthy. I believe that her "facts " are exaggerated by a largwe amount and if anything, she needs to be able to see two sides of a mirror before making such frivolous comments about others she doesn't know about

Moving on...now she isn't speaking to me (hell if I care) and for some odd reason, feels the world should stop so she can make a (non) point. I do want immigration to work more than anything, I just want immigrants to be shown that they aren't just going to come here and get a key to the city. there's still people, businesses, education, and overal a nation to protect. I also feel like everyone should have an equl opportunity, whether they arer natural or not. How ever, a citizen should have the upperhand in deciding if it's a wise decision to allow random people to rush the country without being checked up on first.

Cracking the musician's code.....

Current mood: confused

So recently, I've been teaching myself to play songs through what I refer to as a "staval concept", in which I use the standard music writing method used for piano, to translate songs to my bass. I understand how to read the fret board through this concept and I must admit it is easier than tablature--perhaps ecause I don't know howto read it. It is difficult for me to understand, especially since I've already gotten into the habit of using the music writing method.

My goal is to hopefully learn to read, and eventually write tablature so that I can put up as many tabs as I can to help others. I know a slew of songs, but I am not sure whether or not it will be useful the way I'd like to show them. If anyone can explain to me how to read tabs, I'd be grateful for any advice I can get
