I was bored at my house the other day and started fooling around on my guitar. Somehow i got the idea to make a song (in tab form) that only contained the numbers in my social security number in the order that they appear. It sounded like crap but it was fun. you should try it because you might have a really good one
What the hell happened to music? I mean real music. Good music. Almost everything i hear on the radio now is complete garbage. It seems like record companies are grabbing people out of coffee shops and underground freestyle rap battles and signing them to huge contracts and telling them what to sing how to sing it what to wear and all of it is complete shit that has no feeling whatsoever. The worst part about it is that for some reason that is way above my head, the general public pays MILLIONS of dollars to listen to the bullshit that the money hungry bastards in the record companies force feed them. There are so many one or two hit wonders in the last five years and thats because that is all they were allowed to be. Now don't get me wrong, there are good bands out there making good music, but for every good band there are 20 shitty ones and for every good song there are 200 shitty ones. What bands have you heard in the last few years that, in twenty years from now, will probably have kids looking up the tabs and practicing for their school talent show and tribute bands and such. What the hell will "classic rock" be in twenty years? I don't know, my ranting and raving certainly doesn't solve anything but it makes me feel a little better when i turn my t.v. on and American Idol is epitomizing cookie cutter "music" for the masses. I guess aspiring guitarists on this site just need to keep playing good music and maybe we can turn this around.
