Yes I now do LIVE shows over a site called stickam.com. At the Sonic Orb Studios Network, you'll find great shows such as "The Night Club" and "Topic of The Hour"
So I got my FP10 and it's ok, nothing great in terms of it working software wise....but the sound quality is great. The latest cover (Brown Eyed Girl) was done with the new interface.
Yes that's right. I've finally started outgrowing my tiny old Yamaha MG10/2 mixer and two channel M-Audio 2496 sound card and so we are upgrading
with the PreSonus FP10 (Firepod).
I
am very excited and can hardly wait. This will also help with the
video pod-casting shows I do on Stickam (www.stickam.com/85dave for
those who are interested).
The only drawback is I won't have a
desktop control surface to work with for a while so mixing will be done
with a mouse and on screen control however I plan on buying a small
Behringer control surface to make it a little easier.
On a side note, expect a gear review 6 soon on the Behringer KX1200 keyboard amp/PA. It's in Post-Production right now and I plan on following that up with a Gear Review for the M-Audio 2496 PCI audio interface.
So where do I start...?...I've not been around for a while because I've been way too busy.
I got a job working at home editing wedding videos and such which is a ton of fun and pays very well. I also have been doing a live show on stickam.com called "The Pub", a radio show where everyone in the chat chooses the music they want to hear. Send me a message if you want details on where this show is located and the times. Be aware that this show is moving to ustream.tv at the end of this month. Most of my shows are streamed at the ustream page already so it would be better to make an account there if you had to choose between the two sites to sign up for.
I finally got my video camera back from BestBuy after they took it for "Repairs" for a whole frekin' month!!!...and it's still broken...
Lastly, I upgraded my computer with two new monitors...now I have two 20" LCD flat panels. I do have to upgrade my video card and was looking into one with 4 DVI outs...hmm I also want to upgrade my audio interface from the M-Audio 2496 PCI to the PreSonus FP10 as I need more inputs for my work now.
My last upgrade, after saving money up...will be a new pro. quality video camera...I'm thinking something that runs on SxS cards.
Edit - 7/24/2009 BTW I am also working on a new video for the studio tour......it should be out soon.
The past few days I've been trying to sync and capture from my MiniDV
camcorder but could not get it linked to the computer. Well my brother
comes home with a MiniDV tape desk and so I plug that with firewire
into the computer and guess what?....it works! So it's not my computer firewire port that's broken, it's the 6 year old MiniDV camcorder.
I
brought it to BestBuy last night and told them the 5 problems I've been
having with it and since it is covered under the extended they are
going to look at it for about 2-3 weeks and tell me what they will do
next. Either they will replace the camera, fix it, or give me store
credit. I'm hoping for store credit so I can get the Canon HV20 in
it's place. I dont like how Sony builds their consumer cameras...
I'll
let you all know what happens as I find out myself. If I get a new
camera, (I probably will) I will let you know what I upgraded to.
I know...I've not been around the forums as much a
I have been recording and producing a lot of tutorials for Premiere and doing some photoshop tips as well. See this on my YouTube page, (Youtube.com/sonicorbstudios)
I know I am not going though most of the posts every day but with all of the videos and school homework, I dont have much time.
If you need any help feel free to send me a PM and I will take the time to get you an answer ASAP.
This year I am going to be producing videos and DVDs like crazy so keep an eye out for them.
I just finished another one today which was a project a drumming buddy of mine started. Basically he recorded a drum beat with a video camera on and such and everyone is taking that drum beat and turning it into a song in their own video.
I am no expert on lead guitar and its quite clear at points but the other parts of the song came out great as did the video. Watch in "HD" for the best image and sound.
I hope 2008 was fun for everyone and welcome to 09. Incase nobody saw, I have a contest video on my youtube page for anyone looking to win a cymbal stand for their drum set. Check it out
