Oh right on! Been wicked busy with school and all that myself. Just kicking around at the moment waiting for my last class of the day to start so I can get on home and rest up for tomorrow.
What's have you been up to lately?
mired in the muck of unemployment. doing odd jobs and such. (will work for food, lol) i put a couple of mp3s up, but they probably won't interest you much. pretty, pretty, pop. very commercial. just guitar, nothing else.

Sounds like a solid plan!

Yep. I'm waiting to hear back from colleges now about whether I've been accepted or not.
Thanks for all of your insight on this. :)

Yeah, the two year programs I was looking into are about that much. It's pretty nuts.

That sounds like a smart move though. Really, you can learn how to work a recording console by just interning at any studio and seeing what they do. Truthfully, it's not exactly difficult by any means.

Yeah. I think I'm going to try and get into an area university and study Business Management. Then, see where I am after that, and possibly transfer into the 2-year program at the Art Institute for Audio Production.

I think the school I'm looking at is $40,000. Insane. :(

My high school counselor told me that I should focus on the business aspect first. His reasoning was that I could use it and apply it to what I'm learning in the artistic aspect of recording. Plus, a Business degree can be used for a variety of jobs, so if the recording thing doesn't work out, I have a fall back.

Oh yeah that's definitely normal.
I could have taken a two year at my school but I was too eager to get into the studio (the other half of the particular degree focuses more on the business aspect).
It all really depends what you want to do. Two years is not a bad thing as long as the price is right.

What exactly would you say would be a reasonable price for a program such as this?

Yeahh haha. Ah well. Ya get used to it I suppose! Gotta do what you gotta do.

So what are your thoughts on music production school?

Well, I'm not quite sure right now. I really really really want to become a music producer, but the only colleges I can find that are in my area only offer two year programs. Do you know if that is normal for a music production degree?

Not too bad, just getting all my things together for school tomorrow. Not looking too forward to waking up at 6am again :P

Haha, it sucks, doesn't it? I have to get up at 5:30 every morning because I have a class before "school" even starts.
